March 21st Meeting

Our next book selection is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. We decided to stay with the vampire theme and coordinate the reading of this book with the release of the Twilight Movie. We will meet at Melanie Lyon's house on the release day to watch the movie, all of the extras, and plot and plan for how we think the director will depict the next Stephanie Meyer novel.

Our meeting at Janna's house last month was great! Janna had a wonderful homemade soup for us and delicious strawberry short cake. We had a good discussion about Dead until Dark. Several people actually read the entire series during the month. There were lots of good things said about the book! As a whole, we all enjoyed it.

February Meeting!

We had a lively Book Club meeting last night at Kristin's house. She cooked a wonderful dinner that was delectable! I had a really nice time! I don't think there is a better way to spend a Tuesday night.

Our February meeting will be on Tuesday, February 24th at 6:00 at Janna's house. We will be reading Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. This is the book that the HBO vampire series True Blood is based. I found it on Amazon.com for $7.99. Amazon also sells the Sookie Stackhouse Box Set of 7 books in the series for $31.88.

Also, Melanie mentioned that she wants to have a Twlight DVD Release Party. So put Saturday, March 21st on your calendar. More vampire fun!

One more exciting announcement, Stacey told me that Janet Peery, author of The River Beyond the World and What the Thunder Said will be reading from her writing on January 22nd at 8 PM at the Dixon Center on the Lee campus. Let me know if anyone is interested in attending.
